Brooke Andrews

Dear Families,

Hello! I want to personally welcome you and your child to the 3rd grade and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's life. My name is Brooke Andrews and I will be your child's teacher this year. I graduated from Boise State University in May 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education and completed my Masters in Reading from Walden University in 2014. I enjoy working in such a great community. I could not ask for a better school district or better families to work with.

This year your child will grow in all areas. Third grade has a lot of offer. We will discover Boise History and the community that it is today. Your child will become a better writer and a more fluent reader. We will explore science with lots of hands on activities and experiments. Math will be challenging and engaging, using manipulatives for the hands on/visual learners. Throughout the curriculum, I will use a variety of teaching styles to reach out to all of my students.

During the first couple of days at school, we will discuss thoroughly what behavior is expected in our class and school to ensure they are maximizing their full potential to learn and try their best. A positive, well behaved learning environment is key to having a successful learning community. Students will also be held accountable for their actions by following a consistent set of consequences. I am a firm believer in team work. Cooperative learning and group work are important learning elements in my classroom. Students will be expected to demonstrate accountability, responsibility, and character growth. My goal is for the students to come to school excited to learn and contribute in our classroom community.

Open communication between parents and teachers is important to me. I believe we are partners in the education of your child. I strongly encourage you to volunteer or visit in the classroom anytime. Your support of school activities will not only make your child feel special but it will also show him/her that you value education.

I want to keep a strong parent-teacher relationship. Throughout the year I will communicate through newsletters, Monday Folders, telephone calls, report cards, and parent teacher conferences. Please feel free to contact when you have concerns or questions. You can call me at school, the phone number is 854-4950, mail me at [email protected], or send a note with your child to school.

Your child’s education is important to me. I plan to make 3rd grade an exciting adventure for your child. I am looking forward to an enjoyable and productive year.

Sincerely,

Brooke Andrews
