Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. This is my 41st year of teaching ~ 39 of them at Garfield. Not only do I teach at this wonderful school. but I also attended Garfield from 1st-6th grade!

I graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education in 1977 and received a Masters of Arts with an emphasis in Special Education from Boise State University in 1987. I am and will always be a tried and true Idaho State Bengal!

My first two years of teaching was in 5th grade at Syringa Elementary in Pocatello and then I started teaching in the Boise School District in 1980 in the Resource Room at Garfield. After teaching the most wonderful resource room kids for ten years I returned to the general ed classroom; this time 1st grade! I had a great time in first grade and also had the opportunity to loop with my first graders to second grade for many years. After the last class I looped with I stayed in 2nd grade until the 2015-2016 school year when I taught an awesome group of 3rd and 4th graders. During the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years I taught two amazing groups of 2nd and 3rd graders. I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade again this year! Best grade ever! Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child. It's going to be a year full of fun and learning, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! Welcome to Room 311!!
